her story
Her Early Years
Taylor Alison Swift (better known as Taylor Swift) was born on December 13th, 1989, in Reading, Pennsylvania. Her family soon moved to Wymossing where she started creating her own songs at the age of 5. By the time she was 16 she released her debut album. Her songs ‘Love story” and “You belong with me” in the album Fearless were great hits, appealing to both country and pop fans. This was a big boost to Taylor Swift’s career. Her initial inspiration would have to be her grandmother. In her early years when Taylor and her family lived in Wymossing, Taylor Swift’s grandmother was a professional Opera singer, leading her to follow a musical path. At the age of 10 she started singing at local events like fairs and contests. She started writing her own songs and learning to play the guitar at the age of 12. (The guitar was Taylor Swift’s most used instrument. This instrument was what made her songs both country and pop music.) To pursue her career, she visited Nashville which is the country music capital quite often. Over there she co-wrote songs and tried to get herself a recording contract. Seeing her dedication to music her family moved to Hendersonville in an attempt to further her career. A great performance at The Bluebird Café in Nashville helped Taylor get a contract with Scott Borchetta's Big Machine Records. She released her first single, "Tim McGraw," in 2006, and the song became a Top 10 hit on the country charts. This song also appeared in her first debut which received a lot of praise. For Top New Female Vocalist in 2007, she won the Horizon Award from the Country Music Association (CMA) and the Academy of Country Music Award.

A quoteThis was a few special words she shared with fellow young girls:
”I wanna say to all the young women out there, there are going to be people along the way who will try to undercut your success or take credit for your accomplishments or your fame," she said. "But if you just focus on the work, and you don't let those people sidetrack you, someday when you get where you're going, you’ll look around and you will know that it was you and the people who loved you who put you there. And that will be the greatest feeling in the world." |
